Motoexotica is proud to offer three incredible hot rods from the collection of Scotty Grey. Scotty was a common face, seen on Boyd Coddington’s hit TV series American Rodder, purchasing many of his customs. They had a long standing friendship that was brought together by these amazing machines. Scotty has owned a string of well-known vehicles that, taken individually, would be the focal point of anybody’s garage but, taken en masse, it’s almost unbelievable. Scotty has put the trust in us to sell three of these incredible hot rods.

The 1932 Ford Roadster you see here is an incredible build that was just finished in July of 2010. The best way to describe the car is an extreme attention to detail. There are many ’32 Ford Roadster’s on the road but few come to the standard as this car. The car was built by an ex Boyd Coddington fabricator who is one of the best in the business at a cost of well into the six figures. The body is a Rod Bod’s 1932 Ford Roadster body finished with Brookville steel fenders and running boards. The burgundy body and black fenders are nearly perfect with no imperfections. This is a show quality paint job that was done to the highest quality. There has been period pin striping added to the headlights, fuel tank and around the body.

Inside, you will find a custom designed two tone pleated ultra leather interior. The seats are perfect as you would expect as is the carpet and matching leather door panels. The centerpiece of the interior is the engine turned Auburn style dash. Fitted with a full set of Classic Instruments and knobs, it looks incredible. There has also been a column mounted tachometer installed. All gauges work as do the lights. There has been a vintage heater installed (non functional) as well as a Gennie drilled shifter. The trunk has been finished to match the interior.

Under the hood the 350 Cu In Chevrolet V8 is dressed with tons of nostalgic pieces. Some of these include finned valve covers, Oldsmobile style spark plug wire guides, tear drop shopped finned air cleaner, Speedway ram horn exhaust manifolds, chrome alternator, Edelbrock carb and Petronix distributor. Painted in a body matching burgundy, the engine is very nicely detailed. The V8 is connected to an automatic transmission going back to a Ford 8” rear end.

The details don’t stop when you get to the chassis of this car. Underneath you will find a drilled and chromed wishbone suspension with a polished, dropped and drilled SoCal I beam axle in the front. The front brakes are from Wilson Welding with aluminum finned backing plates and Buick drums. The exhaust system is a ceramic coated system that sounds incredible. The suspension in the rear is coil overs which gives the car a very nice ride.

The wheels on all four corners are 16” SoCal Knock Off aluminum slotted wheels that are all safety wired. They are wrapped with Firestone bias ply tires which are all new. This is an incredible roadster that has nothing but the top of the line options installed on it. There were no short cuts taken in the build and as the owner says “it’s embarrassing to admit the total cost of the build”. VIN number is 181393600 and the current mileage shows 345. The car is being sold on a clean California title, titled as a 1932 Ford.

This is quite a rare car that is a first here at Windy City Rods. A 1967 Buick Riviera GS. Yes a REAL GS (Gran Sport) numbers matching. Before putting the car for sale the customer had us make sure the car was in tip top shape for the next lucky owner. After assessing the Riviera the first thing we all noticed was the paint job could use a good wet sand and buff to really bring out the shine. After that we did visual touch ups under the hood, replacing all the stickers, repainting the motor etc. This Buick already ran pretty good, but we here at Windy City have high standards so we gave it a full tune up with all new gaskets and parts. The exhaust was a little aged so we replaced it from the headers back with all new custom bent, stainless piping, and flow master mufflers to give that 430ci V8 that perfect sound. We addressed some wiring issues with the vehicle, got the windows to function properly, and generally touched up all the odds and ends and misc quirks about the vehicle. After that there was nothing left but to give it a professional cleaning and put it on the market.

This ’72 Detomaso Pantera is an amazing car that has recently benefited from new paint, new polished Campagnolo wheels and a new Ansa exhaust system. The gentleman we purchased this car from bought it from its original owner. He then had the car stripped and professionally painted. It was blocked after primer, base coated and then cleared. The entire car was then wet sanded and buffed to a glass like finish. This is an extremely solid car with no signs of rust or repair that we have found.

The paint is nearly perfect with no notable imperfections. The “Pantera” on the lower body is not a sticker like most are. It is paint and looks fantastic. The front and rear chrome bumpers are all in great condition with on damage or pitting showing to any of them. There has been a rare dealer installed luggage rack installed that looks great.

The ’57 Firesweep Sportsman you see here is said to be a 19,914 ORIGINAL mile car that has been with the same family for nearly its entire life. The gentleman we purchased the car from bought it from the grandson of the original owner. The interior is all original with the exception of new carpet. The original plastic seat covers are even still on the seats! You can be the first one to unwrap this mint upholstery. We have no reason to believe that this isn’t a true, 19k mile car. From the functional AM radio to the rear view mirror actually staying in place to the blinkers that cancel when the steering wheel turns, the car functions just like it did in 1957. You rarely find these cars with all of the above working.

The paint is new and in wonderful condition. Finished in the original color of black, there has been red added to the lower section that looks great and really sets the car off. During the repaint, the car was stripped to bare metal and resprayed. This is a very straight and solid car with all of the door closing as they should with good gaps. The stainless trim all looks original and in very good condition with only some very minor pitting and scratches. Nothing notable showing anywhere. The front and rear bumpers were both rechromed during the restoration as well as the taillights. The front bumper is still original and was not rechromed.

Inside, it appears that new carpet is the only thing that has ever been replaced. The original perforated fiberboard headliner is in nearly perfect condition and shows the originality of the car. The front and rear bench seats are covered with plastic seat covers and look nearly perfect. The dash appears to have never been painted and shows a bit of discoloration around the radio, which is expected from the age. The steering wheel is solid and shows no cracking. Door panels are nearly perfect with on notable wear.

Under the hood, the 325 Cu In V8 runs great and starts with a turn of the key. The motor has been repainted and looks great. The engine compartment is very clean and looks as good as it did when the car rolled off the showroom floor.

In the trunk you will find the original style matting as well as a full size spare and jack. The wheels have been replaced with true chrome wire wheels that are wrapped with brand new bias ply wide white wall tires. The current mileage shows 19,914 and is said to be actual for the car. The car is being sold on an actual mileage title with VIN number 58032379.

The first prototype Delorean appeared in October 1976, and production officially began in 1981 in Dunmurry, a suburb of south west Belfast, Northern Ireland (with the first DMC-12 rolling off the production line on January 21). During its production, several features of the car were changed, such as the hood style, wheels and interior. Approximately 9,000 DMC-12s were made before production halted in late 1982.

The DMC-12 was the only model produced by the company which would go into liquidation as the US car market went through its largest slump since the 1930s. Today, about 6,500 Delorean Motor cars are believed to still exist. The most famous of these Deloreans is by far the “Back to the Future” car. There have been many copies made of this car but by far, the most accurate and complete example has been made by Texas TV Cars out of Dallas Texas. Owned by “Video Bob” Moseley, he is the only builder that is endorsed by Kevin Pike, the designer / builder of the original movie car.

President Ronald Reagan, a fan of “Back to the Future”, referred to the movie in his 1986 State of the Union address when he said, "Never has there been a more exciting time to be alive, a time of rousing wonder and heroic achievement. As they said in the film Back to the Future, 'Where we're going, we don't need roads. When he first saw the joke about his being president, he ordered the projectionist of the theater to stop the reel, roll it back, and run it again. George H. W. Bush also referenced Back to the Future in his speeches.

The movie ranked number 28 on Entertainment Weekly's list of the 50 Best High School Movies. In 2008, Back to the Future was voted the 23rd greatest film ever made by readers of Empire. It was also placed on a similar list by The New York Times, a list of 1000 movies. In January 2010, Total Film included the film on its list of The 100 Greatest Movies of All Time. On December 27, 2007, Back to the Future was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". In 2006, the original screenplay for Back to the Future was selected by the Writers Guild of America as the 56th best screenplay of all time. In June 2008, the American Film Institute revealed the AFI's 10 Top 10 – the best ten films in ten "classic" American film genres – after polling more than 1,500 people from the creative community. Back to the Future was acknowledged as the 10th best film in the science fiction genre.

The ’81 Delorean you see here was built by Video Bob Moseley of Texas TV Cars of Dallas, TX. Video Bob is the only builder that is endorsed by Kevin Pike, the designer / builder of the original movie cars. Many of the props on the car were created using the original molds and design drawings from 1984, when the movie was first made. According to his website, only 9 of these cars have ever been made.

This car is the culmination of 8 years of research including close examination and measurements of the original screen used cars, in depth interviews with the original builders and sourcing of parts from the original locations using the same parts as were used on the original cars. These replicas featured the help of "Kevin Pike" who was the special effects supervisor for the 1985 film "Back To The Future" and he and his team built the original cars for the film. Kevin has helped with the research and sourcing of parts from original locations as well as supervised the building of the first of these cars to meet his satisfaction and requirements.

The conversion features all of the iconic props as remembered from the film, including a working "Flux Capacitor" made from the same rare internal glass relays as originally found in early WWII Military radios. The "Time Circuits" on the center console operate just like they did in the movie, allowing you to input any time and date you wish. When the "Time Drive Switch" is turned on, all of the internal props come to life with all of the sound effects as heard in the film. The "Plutonium Gauges" light up and the needles jump to position. The overhead console ignites with over 40 lighted buttons and switches and can be flipped on and off.

The exterior props include the "Flux Bands" that wrap around the front bumper, top, sides and bottom of the car. They connect to "Flux Boxes" that were originally molded from original screen used parts. The rear deck features custom aluminum vents that are 100% screen accurate as measured from the screen used hero car. The vents are topped with the famous "Mr.Fusion Home Energy Reactor" that is made from molds of the original parts. There are also many extra details including high pressure hoses and braided lines, military electrical connections and vintage aircraft parts that make this car look like something ready to travel through space and time!!! The aluminum rear vents also feature a concert style fog machine that blasts thick white fog (safe water vapor fog) and can be controlled from inside the car manually or by automatic timer.

The entire car is electrically powered by 4 gel cell batteries that total 4000 amps of power including a 2000 watt power inverter and built in 75 amp DC charger so the car can be plugged in for permanent display or be displayed without draining the batteries.

The current miles on the car shows 36,675 and the VIN number is SCEDT26T4BD001305. The car is being sold on a clean California title.

This two owner ’82 Datsun 280ZX is a rust free, California car that comes with a clean Carfax and only 15,430 ORIGINAL miles! The car started its life in Cedar Rapids Iowa where it was undercoated from the factory. It was never driven in any kind of inclement weather and was used as a secondary car on nice days only. It was brought out to California in 2002 when the car had only 13,820 miles. This is said to be a completely original car that still has ice cold A/C, all working gauges and a flawless 5 speed manual transmission. There is no sagging to the rear panel vinyl as you typically see on these cars, the radio works, the power antenna works as well as all of the voice warnings. The car comes with the original owners manual, Japanese punch car build sheet and warrantee information.

The paint on the car is in great condition and is all original. This is a rarely seen factory two tone paint car that is finished in Metallic Brown over Orange Mist Metallic. The paint shows no notable imperfections, just some very minor stone chips to the front nose as expected from age. This is a rare hardtop car with no t-tops and no sunroof. Both front and rear bumpers are in great condition with no damage to be found.

Inside, the interior is all stock and looks as good as it did when it was new. The seats and carpet are exactly as you would expect from a 15,000 mile car. Connected to the 5 speed manual transmission, the car shifts with no problems and runs down the road great. The wheels are in great condition and are wrapped with what appears to be the original tires that came on the car.

The 1951 Crosley Hot Shot Supersport you see here is a very, very special car. Maybe one of the most recognizable of all of the Hotshots, this car was used by the Hollywood Candy Company to promote its Zero candy bars. During the 1950s, the Hollywood Candy Company owned this Crosley Super Sport which was painted to look like the Zero candy bar wrapper and employed a midget, called Zero, to drive around and advertise the candy bar. He was known professionally as "Zero, the Little Hollywood Candyman," and could be seen on the ABC television network in the Hollywood Junior Circus. According to the September 22, 1951 issue of Billboard, Zero was played by Max Bronstein—whose "antics, midget size and small car are sure to keep moppets' eyes glued to the screen during the sugary commercials."

In March, 1957 the car was sold to the LeSueur family of Englewood Colorado where it stayed until earlier this year. As you can see in the photos, the original yellow was painted over with a gray primer many years ago. When purchased earlier this year, the car went through a tasteful restoration that brought it back to its original glory, keeping all of the elements and unique add-on’s that the car had on it when it traveled the country, handing out Zero candy bars. The car was repainted yellow, the chrome was polished, new tires were installed, the seats and door panels were reupholstered and a new top was installed during this restoration.

The paint on the car is very good and less than a year old. While not perfect, the paint looks very good overall with no major imperfections. The front and rear chrome bumpers look great with no pitting, dents or damage showing. The spare tire on the rear is wrapped with a brand new radial tire that matches the four on the car. The black soft top is new as well as the plastic rear window that looks great.

The interior was reupholstered during the restoration and looks great. The rubber floor mat is original for the car as you can see in the photos before restoration. Seats and door panels have all been reupholstered and look great and were refinished in the original colors and style. All gauges are in good working order and appear to be original for the car. Dash has been painted to match the rest of the car. The car does have the original radio which are nearly impossible to find.

Under the hood, the motor is extremely clean and runs great. With a turn of the key, the car starts right up and goes down the road with no problems. With new radial tires all around, the car goes down the road straight and smooth.

Included with the purchase of the car is a display board that shows two photos of “Zero” along with a copy of the original 1957 Colorado title, history of the Hollywood Candy Company, history of “Zero, The Little Hollywood Candyman”, copy of the post card that Zero used to hand out, the original 3” riser pedals that Zero used, a Crosley owners manual and an original post card from Zero. The car is being sold on a clean Colorado title showing the car was purchased from the LeSueur family. VIN number is VC30599 and the current mileage shows 23,995.
