Slick black makes this vintage pickup look like the midnight hero you’ve always wanted. But what’s even better is that behind the looks of this great-looking 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT are desirable features such a large 460 V8 and A/C.
In the 70s, the Ranger XLT package meant an upgraded and very stylish pickup. This one is complete with the rocker moldings that wrap up and continue to the wheel opening moldings, stainless body line moldings, and an ornate tailgate. The original maroon paint has been swapped for a more modern and professional application of the black paint gives it a mirror shine. But as good as this pickup looks, you can tell it really is ready to get down to work and play. The bed has been sprayed with a black liner and there’s a trailer ball on the rear step bumper so you can easily handle your weekend chores.
Open the door, and you’ll see some obvious signs of an investment in keeping this truck comfortable. The gray vinyl bench seat looks new, and the same can be said for the door panels. The exterior black returns an accent color for a package that looks quite uniform. Plus, the Ranger trim level means this one also has nice wood accents to warm up the whole interior. There are great upgrades you can hear like the Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo, and feel like the modern R134a air conditioning. But despite these modern comforts, we really know you’re going to love sliding the rear glass to get the old-school breeze while you listen to the tune of that big V8 rumble for the dual exhaust.
That great soundtrack starts under the hood. This was a muscle truck from day one because it was optioned with Ford’s 460 cubic-inch V8 – the largest they ever allowed in the series. That’s why we’re happy to see a correct-displacement big block still under the hood today. You can tell by the belts and hoses that this has received the proper care, and we know you’ll love the way it fires up nicely with a throaty rumble. The full package feels nice on the road thanks to the C6 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and Ford’s twin I-beam front suspension. Plus, you have the added road holding of front disc brakes and Goodyear Wrangler tires at all four corners
A beautiful black vintage pickup that runs strong off a big block V8. Plus, you can cruise all day in air conditioned comfort. It’s amazing you can get all of this for under $19K. Call now!
