The 1968 Corvette sported all-new styling and was based on the Mako Shark II concept car.
The design was bold, but it seemed most Americans approved as production was up from the previous year. The new ‘Vette introduced hidden windshield wipers and removable T-Tops on the Coupe models and a new 3-speed automatic replaced the old 2-speed. Wheels were one inch wider and the rear roll center was lower allowing the car to corner and hug the roads with more ease.
Under the hood, the Corvette gained several new engine options, and the rare L88 was still available with just 115 being sold.
